We Are Bored

We’ve been sitting in little Tooele, Utah, for Far Too Long. We still have a few things to wrap up before we head out around the second week of December. Right now, Jay has a surgical shoe on his foot due to an injury. Hopefully, he’s back in his Skechers on Wednesday at the follow-up. And just in time for me to have, yep, another foot surgery. This time, the bone in my left big toe is trying to pop out of the tip. It’s due to the bone deformity from arthritis. Never did I think I would have so much horror happen to that end of my body! I mean, maybe my eyes would see something horrible, but my feet?!?! LOL. Getting old sucks.

I don’t let it get me down, though. You can’t. Life is meant to be lived, and we will get through this and move forward. We have plans, dang it!

In December, we’ll head to the sleepy town our child moved to in Oregon and have Christmas with them. And while this means we don’t get to spend it with my beloved brother, Kevin, we plan to stop by to see him on our way to Louisiana for our last Mardi Gras. Yes, our last. When the party isn’t the reason you go, it’s only fun a couple of times. Then it’s same old, same old. This time we’ll be staying near New Orleans, instead of Lake Charles, and that’s where we’ll hear the music we want to enjoy and see the really big Mardi Gras parade. We’ve invited our child, but they may still not be up to traveling by then after a trip to Japan. They’ve never been, and I think they would LOVE it. I’m hoping we have the chance to meet up with my nephew and his wife, as they go every year.

Next, we’ll hang around that area of the country until May, when my other nephew is getting married! I’m so excited to have another niece added to the family. And just like Bezhan’s wife, she is gorgeous!

We’d try to do things around here, but there honestly isn’t much in this neck of the woods. And with diesel prices, we just can’t go that far. So, until next time, Dear Readers, be safe, be kind, be at peace.
