Day 74 – Tuesday And The Colors Are Out

While Our Hero rode his bike on this day, he didn’t take any photos. I have mentioned that Art is growing weary. He is very near the end of the trip, and because we have reservations to meet in Florida at the end of the ride, he has slowed his progress considerably. That’s because he’s made such great progress! He mentioned many green trees and occasional fields of volunteer corn stalks in harvested cornfields. There were some nameless creeks and one cotton field, too. He did reach fifty-three miles and, in climbing hills, gained 1,646 feet in elevation.

Jay and I spent the last four days making our way from Utah to Pennsylvania and, oh my! The colors are coming out!

We stayed at a nice RV Park in Danville, Missouri, called Lazy Day Campground. This park was so beautiful and well-kept. We want to stay again at some point. This was a sign at the fenced-in dog park area that I thought was cute:

And this nice bench to sit on. It says, ” My sunshine doesn’t come from the skies, it comes from the love in my dog’s eyes.” I love that!

They also had some beautiful carvings in the park. They cut trees that need to come down, and a local man designs them. Some are set in the park, and some are for sale at the main office. This was at the dog park:

I love this time of year. Fall is probably my favorite, for the cooling weather, the colors that appear everywhere, and the promise of the coming future with regrowth in the Spring. I hope you are enjoying your Fall, wherever you are, Dear Readers.
