Jay and I went out to dinner last night (Saturday). I’m going stir-crazy stuck in the RV. We were able to pull right up to the front door to get me in and to a booth. I’m trying desperately not to walk much at all with the surgical boot on, which, despite all the extra padding I’ve added, I believe is causing further damage to the top of my toe. Afterward, the last thing I wanted to do was return to the RV and be stuck inside again until my follow-up doctor appointment.
We hoped to see some wildlife, but they were simply not having it! Instead, I took a photo of the Blackfoot River:

The sunset, seemingly enveloped in a smoky sky. There are several small fires in Montana at the moment:

While I think this sunset is beautiful, it’s not the Bronco Orange Sunset that Colorado is known for, and Go Broncos! They won their game today, twenty to twelve! Woo Hoo!
The area we are staying in has signs marked “Watch for Bighorn.” Despite our efforts to park and enjoy the mountain air and being outdoors, we were out of luck. No bighorn, no deer. A couple of fishermen, but in the spirit of privacy – in case they told their wives they were working 😉 – I did not photograph them. LOL.
And now some news about Jay and me. While I will continue to blog about Art’s bike trip, we have decided to return to Utah, where my regular podiatrist is, to continue care for my toe. It has become glaringly clear that the medical people here are not capable of providing that to me. We will be packing up on Monday night and heading out early Tuesday morning for a full day of driving to Utah. Jay is looking for a place for us to stay, as our usual place is booked up by people parking it for the winter – those wimps! LOL
And while I am jealous of the great experience Art and Cindy are having, I’m excited to share that they went to Devil’s Tower in Wyoming. Check out these photos:

There are two climbers on here and leaning columns that are visible. I could not spot the climbers in this photo, but Art shared these next two, where it is clearer:

And here, where one climber is just getting started, another is doing well on his/her climb:

There is a great deal of history concerning Devil’s Tower. It has a special meaning for many Native American Tribes:

I appreciate the way the National Park is encouraging respect and quiet at this place of sacred beliefs for many people:

This sign provides information about how the Tower was formed:

Some additional information about the creation of the tower and continued changes around it:

This is an area of the Tower that has broken away over time:

And what you’ll find at the summit, if you so choose to take that challenge. I’ll sit that one out:

A suggested way to let your mind wander around the mystery and beauty of the Tower:

And here, to feel your connection to nature and others:

Looking up from Art and Cindy’s viewpoint:

A sign showing the Tower reflected in the water and a location map:

Dear Readers, there was a great deal of information about this place, and I encourage you, if possible, to take a trip there to experience it for yourself. I wanted to add in Art and Cindy’s other stop before this post got too long. That was in Deadwood, South Dakota.
A bit of history concerning the Black Hills:

And the next two pages of information:

This information was at the museum, where Art and Cindy grabbed a double selfie!

And the graveyard:

Next Up: Day 39 – Monday, Monday!

Wow, you are still trucking along. Looks like you’re having fun.

Art is truly enjoying this. You can see it in the smiles he gives in some of these photos and the fact he keeps on going!

Any close encounters of the third kind? Eat a big pile of mashed potatoes for us all😉. I’m couch surfing and eating chips as my excitement.

Art and Cindy follow a carnivore diet. When they were in our RV with us, I’d never eaten so much meat in my life! LOL

So far, so good on the big NO to close encounters of the third kind. Just the bear at a distance, which is scary. LOL
