I have to make a correction on my post for Day 27. On the one you got in your emails, it said Art rode seventy-seven miles. That was his mileage for this day. On the blog, I’ve corrected it to the sixty-eight he actually made. But I can’t change it on the ones already in your inbox. Sorry about that.
But let’s talk about those seventy-seven miles. Holy Cow! He is amazing! And he doesn’t stop going day after day. Is he tired? Yes, but that’s part of what this challenge is about. He wants to surpass expectations and reach his goals. He is definitely doing that and more!
At this point in his ride, Our Hero has mostly been in mountainous areas. He has reached the plains of Montana, in part, thanks to some great paved roads on an old highway with little traffic. But take note that there is also little shoulder for him to ride on, as you can see here:

So, please keep him in your prayers for safety and for Cindy’s recovery from her fall as well.
It was also on this day that Art got to see a couple of bald eagles flying in the sky. You can actually see their white heads:

Here’s another photo of them:

Such a cool sighting! Our Nation’s emblem of strength, freedom, and independence. Thankfully, he wasn’t lying down taking a rest or I would have thought, “Vultures!” LOL
Here’s another photo of the plains area Art was riding through on August 28th:

Cloudy skies covering that blue we’re so accustomed to seeing here:

Despite being in the ‘plains of Montana,’ Art saw plenty of hills and rock formations everywhere. This has a nice farmhouse on it in the middle of nowhere:

Because of Cindy’s fall, which made her sore and stiff, she and Art decided to stop at a historic Hot Springs. It did both of them some good. Here are pictures painted around the Springs:

The Native Americans initially discovered these Springs and used them for medicinal purposes:

Here is another painting:

And another:

Animals used the Hot Springs, too, as indicated in the first painting I showed:

And here:

I don’t think there is any reason to be concerned about a bear there now, but Art has his spray if needed – LOL.

It appears Lewis and Clark found these Springs as well. They’ve used this tidbit as a way to get you to look at everything you can find in the murals:

And here is the outside of the building with a mural on it, too:

The report today from Cindy is that she is feeling much better. Her ribs no longer hurt, her knee feels as if it has been scraped, despite no mark, when she kneels down. She is now able to lift her arm to her face, but it remains stiff. Greatly improved, but has some healing left to do.
The other amazing news is that she has practiced backing and is now comfortable with it! I think that’s incredible!

Hi Ron. I’ve shared this with Art via text. Your message got cut off but it looks like you’re warning him of flooding in Louisiana. Is that correct?
