Day 18 – A Long Wrecked Road

The trip was a long one for Our Hero today. The old guy actually made it sixty-eight miles!

I don’t know about you, but I’m impressed with him. Day after day, he keeps going. And in this spirit, let me request again:

Please Comment! I will read them to him, and it will lift his spirits and help him along the way.

Another day, another path, often questionable. But he keeps going, trying, and speeding along. Here is a building (outhouse, folks, which is often a nice thing to see on long riding trips):

The Clark Fork River appears to curve all over this area of the state. You see it again and again. It’s beautiful in all its glory:

Those mountains in the background are gorgeous! This won’t be the late photo you see of this very long and wide river. Nor the last time you’ll see Our Hero’s smiling face:

This type of path is not bad. Gravel and some smoothed areas to guide his bike into:

Our Hero smiles again as he continues on by the Clark Fork River:

Under a bridge – by mistake. It was a Four-Wheel Drive trail. The bridge was out. Turning around was necessary:

Looking down at the river while he ate lunch. He said it was soothing to sit and rest there. Beautiful:

Here, the path takes a bad turn – duh, duh, duh. Rocky and rough:

You might not think it could get worse…but it did. Yep, this really is part of the bike path:

Did Art get to ride through a stream?

Kind of, though he walked his bike across while stepping on the stones. This was not the correct path, but it cut out three miles, so he arrived at the end more quickly.

And let me say, we landed at a new space here in Montana at the Turah RV Park. I’ll talk more about that tomorrow.

    1. It’s just Art now. Jay wasn’t ready for this and with his balance issues, he just couldn’t do it. He’s doing short rides here and there along with Art and then stays with me when we are moving. I wasn’t trained enough in backing our RV, either. I’d warned him not to mention it before we were ready, but he got excited and next thing I know, it’s on. It’s been rough. But I have to have two surgery now. I’ll be posting about that on the Day 21 & 22 Post. Lots of changes.

      1. I noticed that the pictures were of Art most of the time and figured that was the issue. Hope the surgeries are not too risky.
