Sell A Bike, Buy One Better

We had three days of almost constant rain here. First, it is unusual in Colorado to get so much rain. And it was keeping us from being able to do anything. This area is so beautiful, and with so much rain, a trip to the mountains wouldn’t be enjoyable. So while Jay worked out in Art’s basement on a stationary bike and lifting weights, I spent time writing. Nothing wrong with that, of course. We’re doing what we both need to or want to do. The point of staying here for three months is to help Jay and Art prepare for the cross-country bike trip, so most of his time will be spent doing that. We are looking at possibly three months of daily travel once it begins.

But the sun came out after a few days. Believe it or not, Colorado is one of the top states for sunshine. And we awoke to fluffy white clouds sliding across the sky. Jay and Art moved from indoor workouts to bike rides in the open air, their favorite. And some more disc golf, too. I’m dealing with a stomach bug, so I’m not doing much. This darn thing is on day nine today. That’s why this post is so long in coming. Sorry about that. However, Jay also damaged his bike due to some jerk in a vehicle that got right up on him and honked. And he has finally decided that a recumbent bike is not for him. So we bought a nice road bike that, once it arrived, we found the handlebars were NOT adjustable. That doesn’t work for a six-foot-three man. We returned it, and he purchased a better quality bike. We await its arrival. We’ll sell his hardly used recumbent for as much as we can. But we’ll likely get half, at best, what we paid for it.

Look at this beautiful blue sky! And the trees and mountains. This is home:

Below is Pikes Peak. The larger, snow-covered mountain.

We have been taking our dogs to this beautiful park in Fountain, Colorado, very close to Colorado Springs. They love it!

There is a pond full of Canadian geese, lots of dogs both in the dog park area and walking around the paths, and lots of good sniffing for them.

Next Up: We went to Pikes Peak!
