Duck Creek RV Park Kentucky

First, a thank you and a big Hello to my subscribers! I appreciate you so much! It’s nice to know my words are…readable. LOL. So thank you and welcome!

After our wonderful time at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, we began the return trip to Utah for some medical stuff. Our first night’s stop was at Duck Creek RV Park in Kentucky, just outside Paducah. One of their signature items is giving each guest a duck. We got this one:

Jay thought it was a football duck, but based on the bones, it’s clearly a Voodoo Duck. It’s cute! I added it to a collection of ducks we tuck on Jeeps now and then. I love watching people find them, especially if they have kids. It’s usually a Jeep thing, but I love the idea, so I do it, too.

All our stops on the way back to Utah were one night, and one was a boondocking stop. That means you stay in places that generally don’t have electrical, sewer, or water hookups.

One of those stops was at Cracker Barrel in Missouri. One that had not been destroyed by their new CEO. Boondocking locations ask for some sort of “donation,” which includes having a meal if they are a restaurant. So we had breakfast there the next morning. It was delicious! I ordered pancakes, and they served those with a cute, warmed little bottle of syrup:

It’s little. The photo is beside my computer mouse to give you an idea. It was delicious! I don’t use much because I’m diabetic. Since I keep my blood sugar under 7.0, I can have a little treat now and then without affecting it.

While our battery in our RV is not the best – I don’t know why – we can only boondock once before we have to plug in to charge up. Or use our mini charger to close slides the next morning. After a hard lesson, we keep that in the truck, charging all the time now.

Our return to Utah had us hitting a state a day. So from South Carolina to Kentucky, Then from Kentucky to Missouri. We crossed through the tips of North Carolina and Tennessee on the way to Missouri, and stopped that night at the Cracker Barrel. Our next stop was in Nebraska, and Dear Readers, let me tell you, we started to feel the cold when we hit it! It was really windy, and a little snowy. It was one of those days we say, “it’s too cold to snow,” when you live in Utah or Colorado. Even with our sink dripping, our pipes tried to freeze on us! We were in Big Bend RV Park in Big Bend, Nebraska.

Our next stop was at another chilly location in Wyoming. We stayed at the Red Desert Rose RV Park in Wyoming. It was WAY TOO cold to boondock anywhere. And our battery won’t hold out with the heater on. We actually need a new Lithium battery and a second one to do the boondocking we’d like to do. It is what it is. They cost a fortune!

And we arrived in Tooele, Utah, in the mid-afternoon on Thanksgiving Day. I bought a turkey breast, though, and we’ll get that cooked up with all the trimmings, since Jay loves Thanksgiving. It’s his favorite holiday!
