Our Hero reports that at the end of this day of riding, he only has 225 miles to reach his goal. That’s incredible, Dear Readers! He had ridden his recumbent bike over 3,600 miles to date. Today, he made forty-seven miles.
We are so near the end of this amazing journey for Art. But I do hope those of you following him through this trip will stick with me and continue to see the country of the United States with Jay and me. We have loved having you with us!
On this day, while walking the dogs and before heading out on his ride, he saw these ducks:

Oddly colored for those of us from Colorado, but likely common in Florida.
Notice the sign above them: Do not feed alligators. This is common in Florida and Louisiana. It might be common in other southern states, but between this photo and what we saw in Louisiana, where Jay and I enjoyed Mardi Gras last March, I know it’s common there.
Art took this beautiful photo. Notice it also has a sign about the alligators:

This is a photo of Crooked Lake:

While the reason for the name doesn’t show in this photo, this stock aerial photo does:

At the end of today, Art and Cindy left Haines and headed to Sebring, Florida.
