Day 80 – A Sea Forest? And Water Everywhere

Our Hero continues his ride through Florida, and there is water everywhere! Naturally. He rode sixty miles on this day.

This is a shop called The Sea Forest Shop, and behind it, the Sea Forest. I’ve never heard that term before. It is a term used for a natural mangrove forest in Florida. The term is also used in other locales for the kelp forests underwater, which are formed by trees that have grown on the seafloor.

This is the Citrus River. I asked if there were oranges in the water, but no:

This is a photo of a Sea Coast trail on the lower left and a barge canal on the right:

West of the highway where Our Hero was riding was a large fire, and the sky was filled with smoke that caused his throat to burn until he found his mask. That helped a lot. You can actually see the smoke in the air:

A trail! He found the Withlacoochee Trail to follow. That was much nicer than riding along the highway:

This ran near the Withlacoochee River. The ripples made me think it was raining, but it was not:
