Our Hero took Sunday off to rest, as is his usual practice, and he and Cindy attended Church.
On Monday, the ride was back on. Continuing in Georgia, he took this, the Man O’ War Trail:

It was a great one! Well-kept and nicely paved:

He managed fifty-four miles on this day and, in the climbing of hills, reached 2,100 feet in elevation increase.
Passing Fort Benning, soon to be called Fort Moore, Georgia, he took photos of some statues in the area. The first is the Follow Me Statue:

I found this stock photo of the front:

This photo is of The Spirit of the Infantry:

I found this stock photo of the front side of the original statue. The one Our Hero saw is a copy of this Frederick Remington statue:

There are also two eagle statues, each atop pedestals. Art took a photo of one:

Fort Benning is near Columbus, Georgia. Art was riding on Highway 27 when he saw these.
The fort is known as the U.S. Army’s premier training center. It mainly trains infantry, but also Cavalry, Airborne, Ranger, and Armor schools. The statues actually stand at the National Infantry Museum across from the fort.
Next Up – Day 74 – Tuesday…
