As has been the habit, days for resting are necessary to manage this difficult journey. On Thursday, Art and Cindy chose to rest. Our Hero had made it just north of Nashville the day before. But on Friday, he was back at it! He limited his ride to thirty-nine miles on this day, though. We all have plans to meet up in Florida on a specific date, so he’ll take it easy some days and enjoy some sightseeing. We’ll be a little short on photos for this reason, but I hope you enjoy the beautiful country being shared.
First up, crossing the Cumberland River – with a boat on it:

A bit further on, Our Hero crossed Stewart Creek:

Last, we have a photo of Trigger Island:

The name of the island intrigued me, so I did a little research. The island gets its name because it resembles a gun. Yes, I am serious. It’s a wooded island on J. Percy Priest Lake that is popular for boating, camping, and wildlife viewing. The area designated for camping is shaped like the hammer on a gun (at the top back). As for wildlife, other than possibly those camping there, π you’ll find deer, cranes, turtles, and a variety of bird species. I took a screen snip of a map showing the island. I can see it:

The remainder of this day, Art and Cindy went to the Nashville, Tennessee, Temple. On Saturday, they went sightseeing in Nashville and, of course, Sunday was for Church. That brings us to Day 66 of the bike trip, Monday.
Next Up: Day 66 – Monday, Monday – Where in the World?
