Day 36 – Friday Riding For Our Hero

The day off has come and gone, and Art must jump back on the wagon bike to ride. On this day, he managed to cover sixty miles. Here is the interesting part – he set a certain number of miles per day, fifty, to finish in Florida toward the end of November. Today, he reached that average! We’re so proud of him!

And now, drum roll, please, here are the photos from South Dakota before you get to the good parts of the state – LOL:

Foreboding clouds. Does rain lie ahead for Our Hero?

The clouds continue, and the fence indicates people do actually live in this part of the state. Who knew?:

Queue horror music – A hill challenge ahead:

Cloudy and desolate are the photos of the day, it seems:

Normally, I worry when Art rides along the shoulders of roads, but here in South Dakota, it doesn’t seem to be too much of an issue:

As I prepared to write about these photos, I thought there was so much farmland here. But that’s not what it is. It’s ranching in this area:

Rolls of hay and fencing indicate the cattle that must be somewhere in the area. And living people…LOL

Hills and plateaus dot the land in this area. And in the distance, we realize they do have trees here, too!

Looking at these rolling clouds, I can almost see them moving across the big blue sky:

And when I was questioning how alone Art was, a truck rolled by him. Look at those hills ahead! Up and down, up and down:

This photo really surprised me. South Dakota has a lake! LOL. Okay, some leftover water after a rain, maybe?:

The green running up to the brown field is interesting:

You can hardly see the blue for all the clouds:

That plateau in the distance is really cool looking:

And here is the last photo I’m posting, though there were a couple more Art sent:

Next Up: A Saturday Ride
