The plan has been to ride every day except Thursday and Sunday. Since Day 35 happened to be Thursday, Art and Cindy decided to spend the day as tourists! And this is what they did:
Brunch at Trapper’s Kettle, which is built like a fort, though it’s a new building:

I love how the Elk and Bear appear to be looking in a window. It had a nice soup and salad bar set up, too – in a canoe:

As you check out, the moose say goodbye:

Oh my gosh! Art smiles even when he’s not on his bike!!!:

Some additional, non-animal head decor:

Center left of the window shelf is a steel bear trap. Art asked the waitress, “Is that a ferret trap?” LOL. At first, she thought he was serious! That bear trap is a good fifteen inches.

And I saved this photo for last. Cindy, wandering around the restaurant aimlessly – LOL:

They headed to Theodore Roosevelt National Park, named in honor of the President who started the conservation movement of National Parks to preserve these beautiful and historic lands:

And a visit to the Maltese Cross Cabin. This is where Roosevelt stayed while in the Dakotas:

Here is the actual cabin, which you can tour the inside of:

And some of the scenery they enjoyed:

Art said it was a chilly day with some rain. He was glad to be taking the day off rather than being soaked by rain.

Most of you are aware that Klaus and Violet have been on this trip, too. Here they are looking out the front window, wondering what the heck Dad is up to:

That’s the dining area of their camper, and by putting the table down, the dogs can peek outside. Here’s a photo of Violet being a good traveler:

Admittedly, I miss those two sweeties. Oh, and Art and Cindy, too. LOL. But we’ll catch up in time. We have a great stop planned in Florida near the end of all this. It should be awesome!
Next Up: Day 36 – Back at it!
