You know how you can get a bit antsy when you have a goal in mind and something happens that messes it up? That’s how Art felt. He wanted so badly to ride. Even though we would have to drive about one hundred miles to pick him up, we told him to go. And he did.
But before I go on about that, I need to tell you something I somehow forgot. Something a bit terrifying that required us to make a quick purchase for the sake of Art’s safety. And it’s something Montana is known for. Art had an encounter. Queue the scary music: Duh, duh, duh….
While on the dirt road leading up toward the ghost town we went to on Sunday after church (more photos are coming for that), he was gliding along a terrible dirt road when he spotted a big…
Bear! Thankfully, that animal was sniffing and doing bear things, so it didn’t pay much mind to Art passing by. You can bet he sped up, though, and got out of sight as quickly as possible. We got him some bear spray in case this ever happens again. And no photo, folks. He was riding away at the speed of light!
On this day, Art saw some beautiful areas, like this field, as he was trudging up a lot of hills. Now that’s a smile! He was so happy to be back on his bike:

And more gorgeous rock formations, this one at a farm. Montana has many places that make me think of Colorado:

I love this photo of the hills in the distance and the blue sky above them. There’s a reason they call Montana Big Sky Country:

This photo shows the type of path he had to ride on. He’s been on worse, but he’s looking forward to a state with better bike paths:

And finally, we have some more rock formations he was impressed by, along with his smiling face:

Our situation was stressful, so this ride did him a great favor by helping alleviate some of that. It was a long drive to pick him up. We had already driven over forty miles on his last riding day to get him, so on this day, Jay dropped him off at that point, and he rode on another fifty-six and a half miles. He is amazing!
