Day 14 – Deux – Disc Golf

I got a late picture from Art. Yesterday, the guys played disc golf, a favorite activity for both. Jay has played since the 1980s and introduced Art to the game. Some people call it Frisbee golf, but it is a sport played on a professional level. Specific discs are used that are distinguished in weight, shape, which affects their curve, or to avoid any curve at all, and are called different names. One of those is a Roc, as in the mythical Roc bird of prey. That’s how Jay came up with his email of rocslinger. In the past, Jay won a couple of trophies in competitions. Now he plays for fun with his nephews, great-nephew, Art, and anyone else interested in it. They are both out of practice, so on these two days off, they went to play. This is the course they played yesterday, and they are playing it again today. Art says,

“I’m not sure if this was disc golfing or hill climbing?!?! Pretty scenic along the river, though.”

Here is the course layout:

I asked for photos of the course, but by the time I made the request today, they were headed back home. Art took this photo at the practice hole. Notice the disc basket toward the right of the photo beside the tree:

They kept busy on the 14th and 15th with this sport.
