Our living area is in the middle of our RV. We have a rear kitchen, which I like because it separates the rooms and is larger than average for an RV kitchen. And our bedroom and main bathroom are at the front of the RV. We also have a ‘walk-in’ closet. Don’t get excited. It’s a cramped area with a small pathway to step into when putting things away. I think I may have finally successfully organized it. The floor is still a little messy! But settling in takes a bit of time. So here are a couple of photos. And yes, I do still have too many shoes…

The awesome part about that closet? I have a stackable washer and dryer. Oh, yes, I do! I can’t say how much I hate going somewhere to do laundry. I LOVE my washer and dryer. They were a ‘must-have’ item.

On each side of the closet are cubbies. They are needed because the dresser appears large, but the drawers are short and shallow. We use the cubbies for jeans, sweaters, and some shirts. Okay, on Jay’s side, one shelf gets to have the sewing kit, a laser target practice, and his bike shoes. I mean, come on! He doesn’t need the space I do. No man does, right?

Inside one door, we have a shoe holder. On the other…for everything we can’t fit elsewhere.

Yes, there IS a pair of Jay’s shoes in there and a place for his slippers, too. Yes, I am weeding out a couple of my shoes. It’s all about issues with arthritic and diabetic feet hurting and finding the most comfortable shoes to wear. Now I have to clean out a couple of pairs that I replaced.

Here’s the dresser I mentioned. The items in this picture are on it permanently – except the bear (he heats up for sore muscles) and the holder on the right, courtesy of Quake Hold. The cabinet is also shallow and has three shelves. Some of the decor items were gifts from my best friend of fifty years, Laurie, who passed away on July 30th last year. I still miss her terribly. One item was my mother’s and one was a gift from my father. Laurie also made this, which hangs in our bedroom:

She was an incredible artist and crafter. I can’t part with what she gave or made for me. So if they are not stored, they are in our RV.
I also picked up this little guy, initially thinking it would fit the space between the bed and the window. It does not. So I simply set it up beside the bed. It holds some nail stuff, craft items, medication, etc.

Yes, Jay broke a handle off one, but it’s easy to open from the sides. It provides a bit more storage, as does the ‘foot locker’ at the end of the bed.

Then we have some wall decor. Our darling child, when in middle school, Jay’s side and my side:

Jay’s side (the embroidered frame features a quote I found that says: “For it was not into my ear you whispered, but my heart. It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul.”) and his Rockies Baseball Playing Card for Todd Helton, along with a plaque for a disc golf tournament.

My side has my dog plaque (I adore our boy, Tristan, and can’t imagine life without him), a little plaque that says: “You will forever be my always,” and the wood pieces. Yep, one is crooked. Things shake A LOT in an RV.

And finally, above our bed, a caricature we had done when our child was around two and a half:

It’s cozy and homey, and we love it.
